Last reviewed July 2026. This notice describes what personal data we collect at Ege Garden and how we handle it under the EEA General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who we are
Ege Garden is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. The house is a hotel at Fjærland, Norway. You can reach us by email at [email protected] or by post to Ege Garden, Fjærland, Norway.
2. What we collect
When you write to us using the enquiry form on the home page, we collect only what you provide: your name, your email address, the dates you have in mind, the size of your party, and any note you leave for the house. We do not collect payment information on this website. We use essential cookies to keep the site working, and, only with your consent, optional analytics cookies to understand which pages are read.
3. Why we hold it (lawful basis)
We hold enquiry details under GDPR Article 6(1)(b) — the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract of stay, and we hold analytics data, where you have accepted it, under GDPR Article 6(1)(a), your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
4. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not result in a stay are deleted within twelve months. Enquiries connected to a confirmed stay are kept for the period required by Norwegian bookkeeping law and then deleted. Analytics data, if accepted, is retained for no longer than fourteen months.
5. Who sees it
Enquiry details are read only by the small team that keeps the house. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with third-party marketers. Our email is hosted by a processor within the EEA under a written data-processing agreement.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR Articles 13 to 22 you have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted where lawful, to restrict its processing, to object to its processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Write to [email protected] and we will reply within one calendar month. You also have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
7. Changes to this notice
We update this notice from time to time; the reviewed date at the top of the page tells you when it was last touched. Substantive changes are noted in the section they affect.
